The formula for making sales online isn’t particularly
complex.

1. You find out where you people hang out
2. You find ways to reach ‘em with your message
3. You offer ‘em somethin’ free to get ‘em on your list
4. Capture their name and email on your Squeeze page

5. You send emails
6. From emails you send ‘em to multiple conversion processes
7. Follow the 3 laws

Let’s break this down.

1. Find out where people hang out.

This means you find the forums they hang out in, the blogs they read,
the sites they go to.

That way, you can do your surveys, run banner ads, and find the
folks who have the lists.

2. Find ways to reach ‘em with your message.

a. Find out where you can buy banner ads

How about the forums? The blogs? The web sites?

b. Look for text links too

If you can’t buy banner ads, look for Google Adsense on pages.

c. Who owns lists and sell products?

You’ll know these people because in their sig line on their
forum posts they’re offering something FREE. In the article
directories you’ll see their articles. And at the end in the
resource box, they offer somethin’ free — JUST like you
wanna do.

3. Offer ‘em something free to get ‘em on your list

Give people something so enticing they HAVE to join your
list.

That can be a free audio, ebook, PDF, video or newsletter.
Or anything else that’ll get ‘em on your list.

Run banner ads or Adwords ads offering something free. Come
up with a freebie the folks with lists can send out via an
affiliate link, so a cookie gets set.

Write articles with your freebie in the resource box and
submit those articles to the article directories.

4. Capture their name and email on your Squeeze page

My friend Jonathan Mizel coined the term Name Squeeze page.
To PROVE he invented the term, he trademarked it. In case
you’ve mistakenly read someone else invented it.

Anyway, you offer a freebie on a page where folks get the
freebie if they join your email list. Not so complicated
here.

5. Send emails

This means firing up your autoresponder and loading up
emails.

It means learning to write subject lines, format your emails
and write bullet points that arouse curiousity and get people
to click.

You gotta become a master bullet-point writer.

It also helps if you can spin a good story, just like you do
with your friends over the phone or at the coffee shop.

You mix in value with or between your pitches so your open
rate remains high. A lot of people make the mistake of watching
their unsubscribes alone.

You gotta monitor your OPEN rate. That is crucial. It tells you
if you’re getting or losing attention. This is an attention
economy.

6. From emails, send ‘em to multiple conversion processes.

In other words, you send an email offering a free video.
The free video gives a pitch for something.

Or you send ‘em to a podcast.

Or you send ‘em to a free report or a sales letter.

Or you send ‘em to live streaming video.

Now, WHAT do you sell?

Initially, sell affiliate products. Make Camtasia or CamStudio
videos that do your pitches.

Or write pre-sell pages that give a little pitch before you
send people to an affiliate link. You know, warm ‘em up
first!

WHICH part of this process is the HARDEST for you? Which
part do you need the most help with?

7. Make an irresistible offer.

So now the person has gone to your audio, video, blog, or
sales letter.

Now you gotta sell ‘em something.

With first time prospects, give ‘em your best offer.
Probably something cheap or free. Although it depends
on your market.

One of my friends offers a free book then sells a $4,000
software package. When 3% of the people buy it from the
book, the numbers add up.

Others offer a $1 membership offer that goes into recurring
billing after 14 days. That is, after 14 days they’re charged
for the membership site unless they cancel.

And they get charged every month. When you have 2900 people
getting charged $37 a month, it adds up.

7. Follow the 3 cardinal laws

a. Protect your business number one

Follow the law. Pay your taxes.

b. Maintain the goodwill of your list

Don’t milk your cow so much he/she dries up. Offer value to
your list. Keep that relationship up.

c. Make sales

What you can do TODAY: You start with step one. Go find out where
you target market hangs out at. What blogs do they read? What ezines
do they subscribe to? What web sites do they go to? What forums do
they frequent?

Then, when you find that out, look for banner ads you can buy, blogs
you can run ads on, text links you can buy, pages with Google ads on
‘em.

And start looking for the folks who have the lists.

You have a nice looking website, full of content. You have links to all your favorite affiliate programs. But - no one is clicking. What else can you do to get someone interested enough to click on the product’s sales page?

Did you know that you can have your own affiliate program even if you don’t have your own product? Well, you can! Simply join programs that have a 2-tier affiliate program.

Here’s what to do:

When you add the link from your website to the affiliate program’s sales page, also add another link saying "Join this Affiliate Program." The affiliate programs that are 2-tier will provide you with a second link for signing up
your own affiliates. Now, when your "affiliate" sells a product, YOU get a portion of the commission.

Of course, the commission won’t be as high, but it’s still a commission. And if you have enough affiliates signed up under you, they can be significant.

Sometimes the people who sign up using your send tier affiliate program link will end up purchasing the product themselves. Now you will get a commission from this sale plus you’ll commission from any sale your affiliate should make in the future.

Want another idea?

Create a mini-site for just ONE of your affiliate products. Make sure it is one that has an excellent commission structure and a 2-tier program. You won’t need to create a lot of different pages with a lot of content because this is a "sales" site - your sales site.

All you need is two pages. On the first page, create your sales copy. Do not use exactly the same sales letter that is used on the sales page for that product. Make it unique. Make it yours. Give it your own twist, your own personality. On this page you will have a link to your affiliate program
to page 2.

Create page two. This page will describe the affiliate program for this product and will have a link to the affiliate program sign-up page for the affiliate program product.

Now, promote this page - your product’s affiliate program. An affiliate marketer will sign up for this affiliate program under your affiliate ID. And he or she will make sales. If you can get many "good" affiliates, ones who work hard to promote the product, you will make more on commissions that by actually selling the product yourself.

Another thing to think about is that you could receive residual income from your affiliates. Even if an affiliate stops promoting your affiliate product, it is likely he or she has written articles using their affiliate ID in the resource box for that article. When the article has been submitted to numerous article directory sites, and used by other websites in ezines or as website content, that affiliate ID will still be active. So, you win again!

Also, it will be easier to sign up new affiliates to your affiliate program than it will be to sell the product. Why? Because the affiliate marketer is motivated to make money. And the more money he makes for himself, the more money he makes for you! This is a good thing!

So, don’t only think of affiliate marketing websites as content sites. Keep an open mind. Find new ways to promote your affiliate programs - and your affiliate program’s affiliate program - to get even more choices for your multiple streams of income.

As an example, you will learn the importance of using an Affiliate Link Cloaker. Surprisingly enough, there are people out there that after learning about a product or service from you, they will make a purchase and delete your referral number! I’m completely shocked that people would deprive you of your hard earned money but some do. Perhaps they don’t realize the work that goes into affiliate marketing. Regardless of the reason, you need to protect yourself from these people and that’s what the Affiliate Link Cloaker will do for you! It hides your referral i.d. from those that would consider removing it before a purchase. For the minimal cost, I strongly urge you to protect your financial well-being — use the Affiliate Link Cloaker.

Now, for my affiliate program resources - while not an exhaustive list, these are the ones I’ve used and recommend to anyone and everyone:

• Site Sell’s 5 Pillar Affiliate Program ~ If you want to get into the 5 Pillar Affiliate Program, you need to hurry. Ken Evoy is busy cutting out the dead wood. He stated from the beginning that the affiliate program wouldn’t be open to everyone forever. True to his word, he’s getting rid of those that aren’t performing. Get signed up now before he closes the doors!
• ClickBank ~ I like the way ClickBank rates all of it’s over 10,000 products according to popularity! It’s definitely one of my favorite affiliate programs!
• Shareasale ~ Shareasale is the largest affiliate network with some great merchants on board!
• Clickxchange ~ While not in my top three, clickxchange has some good products.
• Linkshare ~ This is another good resource with over 500 premier merchants to choose from!
• Commission Junction ~ CJ used to be the top dog for affiliates but for whatever reason they’ve really lost a lot of ground lately. I still use a few of their merchants (and there are definitely some good ones to choose from) however, they’re not my personal favorite.

Aside from Site Sell’s 5 Pillar Affiliate Program (the absolute best there is), ClickBank definitely blows the others away, in my humble opinion. Both Site Sell and ClickBank offer fabulous customer service to it’s affiliates. If I could only choose 2 programs, they’d be the ones I’d go with - no question about it.

If you do decide to sign up with ClickBank, I recommend you take advantage of CBClicks. It’s a free service that gets your ClickBank affiliate i.d. in front of thousands of people! You simply can’t go wrong!

When choosing affiliate programs do yourself and the readers of your website, newsletter or email a favor - don’t choose programs on the basis of how much they pay. Choose the ones that relate to your topic or theme. Your first and foremost priority must remain your readers. Offer them something of value.

In addition, use the products you represent. It’s difficult to give rave reviews for something you’ve never used! If you lose the respect of your readers - you’ll lose your readers!

First, I would begin with using ClickBank. They have a gazillion affiliate programs to choose from. If you don�t already have a ClickBank account then you can get one for free at http://clickbank.com/overview.html

We aren�t going to bother making a website or anything like that; I�m going to show you the quickest short-cut to earning the money today.

Now once you�ve signed up with ClickBank we�re going to go to the button �Promote Products�

Finding your first product to affiliate with I would suggest you go for a topic that you know something about. This will make writing your Google Ad much easier.

Search for a subject that you know a little bit about. I would also recommend choosing a product where you will make at least $20 for the sale.

Of course first, I want to be sure that there is a market for this product, I want to check to see if people are searching for it. So I�m going to head over to overture http://inventory.overture.com/d/searchinventory/suggestion/ And place in the keyword of the product I think I would like to promote.

If the keyword is being searched over on Overture a decent amount then I know there is a market for this product.

Now I�m going to see if the salescopy (website) is up to scratch.

Does the header draw you in and make you want to read more? Yes

Does it have believable testimonials? Yes

Is the offer genuine and believable? Yes

Does it have visuals of the product? Yes (not a requirement for myself)

Does it have Free Bonus�s? Yes (also not a requirement for me to promote it but definitely adds value)

Are they offering a money back guarantee? Yes

I would definitely promote this website. So now I need to set up a Google Adwords campaign.

This is now going to be the hardest work of it all. As you can see everything else we�ve done so far is a breeze.

Because this is a digital download (they all are through ClickBank, ClickBank only deals in digital products) and if the subject refers to people worldwide I would promote this globally in my Google Adwords campaign.

Now you need to write your ad that will bring people to want to click on it. Say if I was promoting a product that shows people how to play the guitar� I would test a heading like: Learn to Play Guitar (in this subject line I�ve used the main keyword they�ve probably searched for �guitar� and I�ve suggested what this site will teach you �Learn to Play�.

Next is setting up your keywords. I use either http://inventory.overture.com/d/searchinventory/suggestion/ or wordtracker to help me find keywords for this product.

You will want to come up with around 200 to 300 keywords. I generally try to find keywords with little competition, this way I pay less per click.

You ad should be activated in around 10 minutes. You can check this by typing one of your keywords into Google and look for your ad.
